CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – State agents have arrested two Cherokee County residents accused of filing a false insurance claim related to a crash involving a semi-truck.
Tristan Rodgers and Charity Covington face charges of insurance fraud, according to state agents.
Warrants show that in September, Rodgers submitted a false insurance claim stating he was a passenger in a car struck by a semi-truck. Agents said Rodgers later admitted he was not inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Covington is accused of making false statements corroborating Rodgers’ claim that he was in the car.
