Home insurance group Hippo has hired Peter Piotrowski as Chief Claims Officer (CCO), where he will lead claims for Hippo Insurance Services.
In the role, Piotrowski will oversee the company’s claims services to provide Hippo’s customers with a technology-enabled, industry-leading claims experience.
At the same time, he will also serve as a key member of Hippo’s executive team and report to Chief Underwriting Officer Chris Donahue.
Piotrowski joins the firm with more than 35 years of industry expertise. In his previous role he served as CCO at Vault.
Prior to that, he also held executive roles at major firms such as The Hanover Insurance Group, AIG and Chubb.
Addressing Piotrowski’s appointment, Donahue said: “Peter has built his career on an award-winning, customer-centric approach. He’s led multiple teams recognized for delivering an exceptional customer experience, providing some of the highest levels of service in the industry, and making it easy for customers to resolve even the most complex claims.”
Piotrowski, also commented: “Hippo’s vision of preventing and minimizing losses resonated with me. It provides the opportunity to enhance the customer experience by protecting our customers’ most important financial asset and supporting them when they need us most.”
In their results for the second quarter of 2023, Hippo reported total generated premium (TGP) growth of 56% YoY to $318 million, compared to $204 million a year ago.
