Motor insurance is expensive but something the law dictates we must have in place. This makes it a grudge purchase. It is especially expensive for households that have two or more cars, which includes many families in this country.
After a couple of years of premiums falling, there are some signs now that the cost of car cover could be on the rise again. Many motorists are also finding that insurers are trying it on with extreme increases in premiums at renewal time.
