AIG hires former Aon executive Williams for client, broker role

American International Group has hired former Aon executive Christine Williams to lead its global client and broker relationships, the insurer said Monday.

Ms. Williams will join the insurer on Sept. 1 in the newly created role and report to Jon Hancock, executive vice president and CEO of general insurance.

She most recently was co-head of Aon U.S. and a member of the broker’s executive committee. Promoted to the role in April, she shared leadership of Aon’s U.S. operations with Jerry Ferreira while continuing to lead the Northeast region.

Ms. Williams will oversee AIG’s relationships with key global clients and distribution partners, spanning the company’s insurance businesses, AIG said in a statement.

Ms. Williams spent more than two decades at Aon after joining the brokerage in 2002 from Salomon Smith Barney, where she worked in asset management. She was named one of the Business Insurance Women to Watch in 2024.

Former Aon president Eric Andersen took over as CEO of AIG last month
