Spencer Fane attorney Andrew Brought commented on how the second Trump administration could impact the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) hazard-specific safety standards, including the ongoing development of one to protect outdoor and indoor workers from extreme heat, in a recently published Business Insurance article.
In the article, States Take Lead on Heat Protection Rules for Workers, Andrew provided his thoughts on what could happen if the new administration halts OSHA federal-level, hazard-specific safety standards.
“In the absence of a national standard, we will continue to see individual states pursue worker heat regulations to protect outdoor workers and, in some cases, indoor workers,” Andrew shared.
At the firm, Andrew counsels clients with complex challenges at the intersection of health, safety, and environmental regulations and is frequently called upon to assist in handling crisis management situations, strategic response, and incident investigations.
