APPLETON (WLUK) — A garage fire in Appleton Tuesday caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., the Appleton Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1100block of Bell Avenue.
The caller reported smoke and flames were visible. When crews arrived, they found a fully involved unattached garage fire.
Fire companies attacked the fire initially with a deck gun and then finishing with preconnected handlines.
Within 10 minutes, the fire was brought under control.
Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire. Damage to the garage, its contents and exposures are estimated at $150,000, officials say.
AFD stressed in a news release that renters should invest in renters insurance, “a cost effective way to get re-established, should a fire occur.”
