Bobbie De Vault Phillips, age 90, beloved mother to two daughters, born on November 24, 1934 went to her heavenly home on April 17, 2024. She passed away peacefully with her daughters and son-in-law by her side.
Bobbie grew up in Luttrell, Tennessee. She played basketball and graduated from Maynardville High School as Valedictorian of her class. After high school she went to work at TN Mill and Mine, UT, Safeco Insurance, The Home Insurance and Allstate, where she retired in 1998.
Following retirement, Bobbie joined a ladies AAA Travel Group and was fortunate to travel to 15 different countries. She loved Ball Room Dancing and Square Dancing. Bobbie also volunteered at Parkwest Hospital, where she always enjoyed helping others, and even got to meet and speak with the great Pat Summit one day while doing so. Additionally, she not only loved painting and taking art classes, Bobbie also loved going on cruises and making new friends. She loved her family and made sure holiday traditions were passed down to her children and grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
Preceded in death by her parents Evelyn Merritt De Vault and James Lawson De Vault, sisters Billy Ray Hill, Patsy Montana Needham and James Conda (JC) De Vault, Niece Robin Stooksbury and nephew Jeff Hill. Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Randy) Baker, Kandi Bailey; grandchildren, Lance (Ansley) Baker, Logan (Lauren) Baker, Kendel Bailey and Kody Bailey; Great-granddaughter, Hadley Baker; her beloved dog Izzy; and special friends, Imogene Ford and Teresa Jones. We will always remember the love Bobbie brought to our lives and her biggest saying was “One day at a time Sweet Jesus.”
The family will receive friends at Rose Funeral & Cremation – Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00- 7:00 pm with Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00. Family and friends will then gather on Wednesday, at 12:45pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN for a 1 pm interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobbie’s name to the Alzheimers Association.
