Insurer Cincinnati Financial Corporation is strengthening its leadership team to drive profitable growth in its insurance operations.

Effective January 1, 2025, the company will promote experienced leaders to shape the strategies for its commercial/life and personal/specialty divisions.

President & CEO Stephen M. Spray commented: “Cincinnati Insurance has achieved significant profitable growth over the past decade.

“We’ve expanded our product offerings, capabilities, and geographic reach, all while remaining committed to our agent-focused strategy and prioritising financial strength. By leveraging our talented team and resources, we can continue to build a strong foundation for the future.”

Sean M. Givler, CIC, CRM, currently Senior Vice President of Commercial Lines, will lead the commercial/life insurance operations. Will Van Den Heuvel, Senior Vice President of Personal Lines, will oversee the personal/specialty insurance operations. Both will continue to report directly to Spray.

Givler, as the Head of Commercial and Life insurance, will manage Commercial Lines, Management Liability & Surety, Sales & Marketing, and The Cincinnati Life Insurance Company.

With 27 years at the company, Givler has held various leadership roles, including overseeing commercial lines, managing relationships with independent agents, and leading field marketing efforts.

Van Den Heuvel, responsible for personal and specialty insurance, will lead Personal Lines, Excess & Surplus Lines, Cincinnati Re, the assumed reinsurance business, and Cincinnati Global Underwriters Ltd.

Since joining the company in 2014, Van Den Heuvel has nearly tripled personal lines’ net written premiums and solidified Cincinnati Insurance’s reputation as a top-tier provider of private client insurance.

Additionally, Teresa C. Cracas, Esq., chief risk officer, will expand her role to include executive oversight of Corporate Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and Policyholder Experience, while continuing to manage Strategic Planning, Actuarial, Reinsurance Ceded, and Strategic Innovation. Cracas will continue reporting to Spray as she works to enhance efficiencies across the organisation.

Spray added: “Sean, Will and Teresa are proven leaders with a deep understanding of what makes Cincinnati Insurance special. Next year, we’ll celebrate 75 years of serving independent agents and their communities. I don’t think the future has ever been brighter for Cincinnati Insurance, and I’m energised by the possibilities that lie ahead to create fulfilling careers for associates, deepen agency relationships and deliver value to shareholders.”

To fill the roles previously held by Givler and Van Den Heuvel, Cincinnati Financial Corporation has promoted two subsidiary officers, effective January 1. Chet H. Swisher, Vice President of Commercial Lines, will take on direct responsibility for the company’s commercial lines operations. Swisher is currently leading the Commercial Key Accounts division.

Scott A. Schuler, Vice President of Personal Lines, will assume direct responsibility for the company’s personal lines operations. Schuler is currently overseeing Personal Lines Underwriting.
