FSB launches free seminar series for small businesses

Farmers State Bank (FSB) is launching a free, four-week program designed to provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with tools and information to build sustainable operations.

The program, “From the Ground Up – A Small Business Series,” will be held on Mondays from Sept. 8-29 at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 5th Ave. SE. Each session runs from 6-7:30 p.m. and will focus on a specific aspect of business development.

  • Sept. 8: Laying the Groundwork – Starting or strengthening a business, including strategic planning and core operational principles.

  • Sept. 15: Financing Your Business – Financial management, funding options and cash flow strategies.

  • Sept. 22: Promote and Protect – Marketing, brand-building, risk management and small business insurance.

  • Sept. 29: Working Smarter – Streamlining operations, using banking and U.S. Small Business Administration resources, and planning for future growth.
