Insurance companies collected 22 billion ALL this year, from car, property and health contracts. Compared to last year, this market has expanded by 10%.
Car insurance has cost Albanians 13.4 billion Lek until November. The amount collected by insurance companies is 8% higher than last year.
Even life and property insurance have seen an increase in value and in total, together with the mandatory car policies, there are 22 billion ALL collected in total.
Insurance companies register this year, 1,440,000 contracts, with an increase of about 10% compared to last year, thanks also to the addition of funds that have been put into circulation in Albania this year.
On the other hand, the compensation received by individuals also increased in value, where only those for damages from car accidents were 5.7 billion ALL.
In Albania, insurance is mandatory for motor vehicles, while for health and property, the choice is voluntary. Among the latter, there was mainly interest in property insurance, driven by the fear of earthquakes, fires or floods.
By structure, life and health insurance accounts for only 8% of the market while auto and property dominate with 92% of the volume.
