Inszone buys several agencies - Business Insurance


Inszone Insurance Services in the past week announced several agency acquisitions.

Anaheim, California-based Inszone said Wednesday it acquired Pikes Peak Insurance Agency, based in Falcon, Colorado.

Founded in 2005 by Chris Wood, Pikes Peak offers commercial and personal lines coverages. Mr. Wood will continue with Inszone.

On Tuesday, Inszone said it acquired Sample Insurance Group, based in Monument, Colorado.

Founded in 2004 by Robert Sample, the agency offers commercial and personal lines coverage. The company will continue operating out of its Monument office.

Also Tuesday, Inszone said it acquired Meyer & Rees, which does business as Bierschwale-Rees Insurance and is based in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Bierschwale-Rees, acquired by Todd Willingham in 2006, has expertise in providing coverage for the region’s tourism sector, including restaurants, wineries, art galleries and bed-and-breakfasts.

The agency will continue operating from its Fredericksburg location.

Inszone said Monday it acquired Shahinian Insurance Services, based in Santa Ana, California.

Founded in 1974, the agency offers specialty insurance programs for kiosk operators, festival and trade show vendors and organizers of community events. It also provides coverage for exotic animal handlers, educators and specialty entertainment businesses.

Last week Inszone said it acquired Northern Insurance Group, based in Plainfield, Illinois.

The agency has expertise in construction, restaurant and small business coverage.

Inszone was the 44th-largest broker of U.S. business in Business Insurance’s latest ranking.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
