Legislation won’t fix insurance woes | Letters to the Editor


Our Florida Legislature’s special session is already finished. One of the most important pieces of legislation that will be passed this year and next — SB 2 Property Insurance — was rammed through the Florida State Legislature in a matter of 48 hours under the guise of “fixing” the collapsing insurance market.

This “pro-insurance company” legislation removes most of the remaining consumer protections and consumers will have even higher property insurance rates because of it.
