MOSS BLUFF, La. (KPLC) – The Ward 1 Fire Department for the Moss Bluff area has announced that the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) has recently improved its rating.
The department was previously rated at Class 4 and has now improved to Class 3.
The grading system ranges from 1 to 10 with a 1 being the best. The grading occurs every five years when departments are tested on their operations, water systems, and emergency communications.
PIAL gradings can also have an impact on some homeowner insurance policies in the service area.
Fire Chief Robby Trahan says, “We will conduct a review of the results and continue to improve where possible. Once again, as Fire Chief, I am very proud of all members of the department and we continue to be grateful for the support of our citizens.”
