That’s where local office partnerships play an important role in providing specialized services like geographically-tailored coverage recommendations. Matt Bischof, owner and operator of Matt Bischof Insurance Group Inc., opened his GEICO local office in The Colony in 2016.
“My job is to be a problem-solver, first and foremost,” Bischof said.
Now, Bischof and GEICO are thrilled to announce their recent move to a new, more convenient location in The Colony, a decision Bischof hopes will make services more accessible to busy commuters.
“We’re proud to be the very first tenant in this brand new, beautiful retail center on [FM] 423,” Bischof said.
The new office, located at 5101 Main St., Ste. A100, sits near the intersection of Main Street and S. Colony Boulevard and welcomes walk-ins Monday through Friday. Saturdays are by appointment only, and the office is closed on Sundays.
Today’s complicated insurance market
Bischof said he favored the location due to its convenience for commuters traveling along Sam Rayburn Tollway and FM 423. He also believes it is a better space for his team’s collaborative and steadfast approach to service during a challenging economic time.
“The insurance business has been rough on consumers,” Bischof said. “When you have out of control inflation, [insurance carriers] cannot raise rates fast enough to keep up with the cost of … all the things that go into an insurance claim. As a producer, we have had to have conversations with people that have been pretty difficult.”
But those conversations still need to happen, and he wants North Texans to know his team is here to serve as a local face.
As a high-volume office, Bischof and his team excel in supporting customers as they tackle everything from unique ownership issues and especially challenging claims processes to helping customers select the insurance products that best fit their needs.
Those needs span the full wide array of GEICO insurance products, including:
- Auto
- Home
- Renters
- Condo
- Motorcycle & ATV
- Boat
- Commercial Auto
Now, he and his team can provide solutions in a welcoming, comfortable space with neatly arranged desks and colorful, branded GEICO artwork.
Value in local knowledge
The move comes with some new opportunities, too, and Bischof shared his enthusiasm for the business and all it entails.
“I’m really engaged in the whole business of insurance. I’m here every day. I really enjoy training agents and talking to customers and, you know, it’s my baby,” Bischof said.
And when it comes to hiring agents, he prioritizes local, knowledgeable, licensed sales professionals who are intimately familiar with the area, pointing to recent news on the high cost of storm damage in North Texas, specifically.
“There’s a lot of challenges with North Texas,” Bischof said. “It’s very well-documented. The counties around Dallas experience some of the heaviest insurance losses in the country.”
Local knowledge is especially valuable for new arrivals who may not yet be familiar with the lightning strikes, tornadoes, hail storms and other frequent severe weather events.
That’s why Bischof strives to provide community members with the information they need to make informed decisions, including reminding them that when it comes to insurance, people sometimes realize too late that you get what you pay for.
“You might save buying online, but when it comes time to actually use the product that you’re paying for, you’re going to appreciate the fact that you can always come in and see us, you can always pick up the phone and call us,” Bischof said. “We’re here to help navigate through those challenges and to make sure that the coverage that the customers need match the budget that they have.”
Since opening his GEICO local office in 2016, Bischof’s service to the area goes beyond insurance. His team is also involved with organizations like The Colony Chamber of Commerce and The Colony High School. His office also sponsors local events like the upcoming Fall Family Festival.
For assistance selecting a policy or reviewing your current coverage, call Bischof’s team at 469-200-7202, send them an email at [email protected], or drop by the new location at 5101 Main St., Ste. A100, The Colony on weekdays between 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
