Northeastern Insurance, a Latham based insurance agency specializing in home, auto and business protection, announced they’ve been awarded the Main Street America Insurance Community Impact Award. The award comes with a $1,500 donation to the agency’s charity of choice. The recognition was awarded to only 2 other agencies nationwide for demonstrating action and leadership to support nonprofits in need in our local community.

To be considered for the award, nominees must participate in initiatives, projects or programs that positively impact their community. This involvement can include but is not limited to donating, fundraising, volunteering, hosting events and implementing innovative solutions to identified challenges. Northeastern Insurance donated the $1,500 donation to the Salvation Army of Albany, as the agency has partnered and volunteered with them over the past several years. The official check presentation was completed at the Salvation Army of Albany, with members of Northeastern Insurance and Main Street America present with the Salvation Army team.

“We are honored to receive this recognition and have the opportunity to give back to such an amazing organization in our community,” said Michael Venezio, President of Northeastern Insurance. “Our company is proud to support the Salvation Army, and we believe that through our contribution we can help provide critical resources to inspire lasting change in the communities that need it most.”

Northeastern Insurance is embedded with the local community and understands the unique needs of the area. Through volunteerism, fundraising and sponsorships, they’ve supported local schools in disadvantaged areas, animal shelters, veterans causes and more.

Previous work by Northeastern Insurance with the Salvation Army includes prepping/delivering meals via Food Truck to the children at Giffen Memorial School during the agency’s annual Volunteer Week. The team volunteered to prepare/serve hot dogs, ice cream, and sweet tea to the students on the Food Truck as they were being released from school. The team has also
volunteered to do a variety of maintenance work around the facility.
