Legal & General specializes in two types of life insurance: Term and universal life.

Term Life Insurance

With Legal & General’s OPTerm term life insurance policy, you pay a fixed premium throughout a level term period. If you die within this time, a death benefit will be paid to your beneficiary. Legal & General America has an excellent choice of level term periods: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years.

OPTerm is available to people ages 20 to 75, and coverage amount options start at $100,000. If you’re 50 or under, you may be eligible for a term life policy with no medical exam.

Universal Life Insurance

Legal & General America offers a conversion-only universal life insurance product called LifeStep. This policy is only available to OPTerm policyholders who convert to a permanent life insurance product. Eligible policyholders can convert without additional underwriting needed.

The minimum coverage amount for LifeStep is $50,000 and is available for ages 20 to 85. It includes a guaranteed interest rate and guaranteed death benefit, with the option for flexible premiums.
