Walpurgis Night in Europe is a traditional spring holiday dedicated to fertility. It is celebrated on 1 May and the night before. The name of this holiday is associated with Walpurgis, a nun from the Wimburn Monastery who came to Germany to found a monastery. She was very popular, and she was venerated as a saint.

Festa della Sensa in Venice

Festa della Sensa symbolises the romance between Serenissma (Venice) and the sea. It is a festival of boats and the tradition of Venetian rowing. Festa della Sensa begins after the Holy Mass in the Church of St Nicolo.
