According to NerdWallet, the company that offers the lowest rates for minimum coverage in Texas is State Farm, at $372 per year. This applies to a 35-year-old driver with a clean driving record. This amount is much lower than the state average for minimum insurance coverage, which sits at $874 per year.

These are the minimum requirements for insurance set by the state of Texas, but these may not provide sufficient coverage in the event of a serious accident.

Full coverage car insurance

Many drivers opt for higher coverage limits or additional types of coverage, such as uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, collision coverage, and comprehensive coverage, to ensure they are adequately protected.

The latest figures from NerdWallet indicate that the cheapest policy for full coverage in the Lone Star State is offered by Texas Farm Bureau, at $106 per month totaling $1268 a year on average. This rate is less than half the average price of full coverage in state, which is $257 per month for an annual total of $2966.
