Military personnel will be receiving discounts on their automobile liability insurance premium for 2023-2024, thanks to the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI).
According to the LDI, all Active-Duty Military servicemembers, Louisiana Air National Guard and Louisiana Army National Guard personnel should receive a discount of twenty-five (25%) percent of the premium for automobile liability coverage.
This discount is defined in La. R.S. 22:1266.
Commissioner of Insurance, James Donelon said, “After having served for 33 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard, I’ve seen many of the challenges members of the military face when they are deployed. There are several protections in place to help make it easier for veterans to deploy and establish a career upon returning home. We are pleased to do our part to help provide relief on auto insurance rates for those who are serving our country.”
