It is well known that Vignesh Shivan’s next film is titled LIC (Love Insurance Corporation) and stars actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. The film which was launched in December last year, also stars SJ Suryah in a pivotal role.
It now looks like the film has run into trouble with a notice being sent to the makers of the film including Vignesh Shivan and Seven Screen Studio banner on behalf of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) — the insurance and investment company — prohibiting them from using the title for the film. The notice also warned that if they fail to change the title within seven days, legal action would be taken against them for copyright infringement.
The makers have not yet responded to the notice and are yet to provide a clarification on the same.
It is to be noted that LIC will be the first time Vignesh, Pradeep and Krithi are working with each other. The film will be backed by Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures. Notably, Vignesh and Seven Screen Studio earlier worked in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
The music for LIC will be scored by Anirudh Ravichander, a regular collaborator of the director. The film will also have Yogi Babu playing as the comedian. The technical crew consists of Pradeep Ragav as the editor and cinematographer Ravi Varman.
