This amount is much lower than the state average for minimum insurance coverage, which sits at $874 per year.
These are the minimum requirements for insurance set by the state of Texas, but these may not provide sufficient coverage in the event of a serious accident.

Full coverage car insurance
Many drivers opt for higher coverage limits or additional types of coverage, such as uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, collision coverage, and comprehensive coverage, to ensure they are adequately protected.
