WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Seven apartment units in Warner Robins were heavily damaged due to a fire that engulfed an apartment building, according to Mandy Stella with the Warner Robins Fire Department.
According to Stella, sometime around 8 p.m. on Saturday, the fire department was called out to the Retreat at Northlake Apartments off of Eastlake Drive. Based on photos from the scene, the fire started in the attic of the building. She said six units responded to the fire.
Stella said that five of the apartments had smoke and fire damage, while two only had smoke damage. Fire fighters on the scene said that there were no injuries, and all families have renters insurance to cover what they lost.
Stella added that the Red Cross in Warner Robins has taken in all seven families that were displaced. 13WMAZ called the Red Cross for further info, but did not receive an immediate response.
Firefighters and investigators are still working to learn the exact cause of the fire and how bad the damage was. Photos show that the roof suffered extreme damage, but the exact damage the rest of the apartments suffered cannot be confirmed.
We will update this story with further details as we receive them.
