Another Denton County business hits the 50-year milestone. Who else has hit the half-century mark? |

Local law firm Minor & Jester is the latest business to join the Denton County Heritage Business Program.

Denton County introduced this program in 2015. Kelsey Jistel, curator of educational programs for Denton County’s Office of History and Culture, said it recognizes businesses in the county that have been in operation for at least 50 years.

“It’s really important that we celebrate the businesses that are so closely tied to our community,” Jistel said. “These are people who live and work in Denton County. And a lot of them have for many generations.”

Here are a few businesses that are part of the Denton County Heritage Business Program:

Minor & Jester

This law firm was founded over 70 years ago by Fred Minor, who served as speaker of the House for the Texas Legislature in 1940. Minor & Jester offers legal counsel in a variety of areas, including family law, real estate law and more. Minor & Jester is located at 502 W. Oak St., Suite 200, in Denton.
