The Blinn Board of Trustees will call for a board election when it meets Tuesday.
In the consent agenda for Tuesday’s meeting are several items that pertain to the May 6th election, including an order for the election of trustees representing Precincts 2 and 3 to serve six-year terms; authorizing administrators to execute an election services contract with Washington County and agreements with local government entities for joint elections; and scheduling a drawing to determine the order of candidates on the ballot.
Douglas Borchardt, who represents Precinct 2, announced in November that he would not run for re-election after serving on the board since 2010. The Precinct 3 seat is held by Allison Bentke, who was appointed in October 2021 following the resignation of Teddy Boehm.
One regular session item awaits consideration, that being the approval and awarding of a policy for Blinn College’s property insurance coverage.
Trustees will then meet in executive session, after which they will potentially authorize right-of-way and easement agreements with the City of Bryan.
The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Bryan Campus Student Center, room F-120. The meeting can be viewed on Blinn College’s YouTube channel.
