Three-year-old Jazln Lee’s specialized wagon was stolen on June 16 from the detached garage of the southwest Calgary home where her family lives, according to CTV News.

Her mother Marie Lee wrote in a GoFundMe page that Jazln is non-verbal autistic and epileptic, having spent most of her life in and out of hospitals and having undergone three surgeries to this point in her life.

She said those conditions make the wagon a vital resource.

“Jazln required the use of this wagon for safety as she can have seizures at any time and it allows for her safety,” Lee wrote.

“This wagon had modifications made to it for additional harnesses as well as pads for when seizures occur to keep her safe, as well as rescue medication packs.”

The fundraiser said the family wasn’t able to claim the cost of the stolen wagon through insurance, as they’re tenants and not covered under their landlord’s home insurance policy.

That cost to replace the wagon totals about $5,000, between the vehicle itself and the specialized equipment it’s fitted with.

Through Sunday afternoon, the GoFundMe page had raised $5,800 to pay for the replacement for the family, who recently moved to Calgary.

“We want to thank each and every one who is able to donate to helping,” Lee wrote.

“This will be a blessing for my family as financially this isn’t something any local organization can take on (and I) can’t replace on my own.”
