Henderson Brothers on Friday announced a leadership succession and an expansion to its employee ownership program.
The Pittsburgh-based brokerage named current managing director of property and casualty Dan Coast president, the first non-family member to hold the title at the 133-year-old firm. Mr. Coast joined Henderson in 2006.
Chairman, President and CEO Thomas B. Grealish will continue as CEO and become executive chairman. Executive Chairman Daniel P. Grealish Sr. will transition to chairman emeritus.
Henderson also said Pete Horne will continue as general counsel while transitioning to chief operating officer, and Sara Bianco, manager of client services, has been named managing director of property and casualty.
Daniel W. Grealish, the family’s fourth generation to be involved with Henderson, will continue as director of finance. He is expected to become chairman in the future, Henderson said.
The broker also announced an expansion of its employee equity program to 33 employees for 2025 after its rollout in 2024. Further expansion of the program is planned.
The broker provides commercial insurance, employee benefits and wealth management services and employs roughly 185 people in the northeastern U.S.
