White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. named Liam Caffrey its next Chief Executive Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Caffrey, who will also join the company’s Board of Directors, succeeds current CEO Manning Rountree, who will retire on Dec. 31, 2025.
“I am honored to assume leadership of this great company,” Caffrey said. “White Mountains is in a fantastic position today, and I look forward to working with our Board and management team to build upon our strong track record of creating shareholder value.”
Caffrey currently serves as the company’s president and Chief Financial Officer, a role he has held since joining in 2022. He previously spent nine years in various finance and operating roles at Aon PLC and served as a principal at McKinsey & Company.
As part of the transition, Rountree will serve as a Senior Advisor through January 2028. Additionally, Michael Papamichael will succeed Caffrey as CFO, and Giles Harrison will become president, both effective Jan. 1, 2026. &
