Harrisburg-based Penn National Insurance, a property and casualty mutual insurance company, recently announced it has made leadership changes, effective in January.
President and CEO Robert Brandon will transition to CEO in January and will retire in July. Brandon joined the company in 1995, becoming president and CEO in 2020. During his tenure, the company earned an A.M. Best credit rating of A, surpassing $1 billion in annual direct premiums written and reached a record surplus of $906.6 million.
Senior Vice President of Insurance of Operations John Foster will become president and a member of the company’s board of directors. On July 1, he also will become CEO. Foster joined the company in 2006 as vice president of personal lines. He assumed his current role in 2020.
Vice President of Field Operations Randal Mancini will become senior vice president of Insurance Operations. Mancini joined the company in 2000 and has held several leadership roles. In his new role, he will oversee commercial and personal lines underwriting, field operations, distribution and claims.
Penn National Insurance offers coverage in 13 states through a network of more than 1,200 independent agency operations. It wrote more than $1 billion in direct premiums in 2024.
