The great thing about platforms is that they open to door to seamless partnerships, embedded offers and more. Here’s the word;
Prestige Underwriting and insurtech provider Urban Jungle today announced a new partnership to deliver non-standard home insurance through Urban Jungle’s digital platform.
Urban Jungle has launched the Prestige Underwriting Coverall policy under the “Select by Urban Jungle” brand, a move that will enable Urban Jungle’s customers with non-standard home insurance needs to obtain coverage seamlessly via its digital channels and website. This collaboration is set to significantly broaden Urban Jungle’s home insurance footprint and provide more choice to customers who have historically struggled to find home cover in the standard market.
Urban Jungle, founded in 2016, has quickly become a prominent online insurance provider, helping over 300,000 customers across the UK. They use the latest technology to keep insurance affordable and accessible – offering transparent pricing with no hidden fees, an easy online quote process and flexible monthly plans.
Until now, Urban Jungle’s home product set has focused on standard home insurance risks, working in partnership with established underwriters and affinity partners. As the brand continues to scale, this partnership with Prestige Underwriting supports its strategic move into the non-standard space, enabling it to serve a broader base of customers with more complex insurance needs.
Prestige Underwriting brings over two decades of experience in non-standard risk, and through its flexible Coverall product, will underwrite both buildings and contents cover for customers with more atypical profiles. These include risks such as non-standard construction, prior subsidence, unoccupied or let properties, and other scenarios often declined in the standard market.
The partnership will also be underpinned by data enrichment and address-level rating methodologies, key capabilities within Prestige Underwriting’s risk selection and pricing framework. This level of underwriting sophistication ensures precise quoting and appropriate pricing, enhancing quotability and confidence in underwriting decisions.
As a result of the collaboration, Urban Jungle expects its quotability to rise significantly, allowing the brand to serve a much greater proportion of its inbound customer demand and strengthen its competitive position in the digital home insurance space. For Prestige Underwriting, the partnership opens a new route to market through a trusted, tech-led brand and is expected to generate significant new quote volume in non-standard personal lines.
Tim Baxter, Business Development and Relationship Director at Prestige Underwriting, said:
“Urban Jungle is a dynamic, tech-savvy brand with a truly customer-first approach, and we’re excited to be their partner of choice for non-standard home insurance. This collaboration brings together Urban Jungle’s digital expertise and reach with our specialist underwriting knowledge, enabling us to deliver comprehensive cover to many customers who might otherwise struggle to find it. We see this partnership as a fantastic opportunity to broaden our market footprint and reinforce our commitment to innovative solutions in the non-standard home insurance sector.”
Jimmy Williams, CEO and Co-Founder of Urban Jungle, said:
“This partnership with Prestige Underwriting is a big step in Urban Jungle’s mission to make insurance fair and more accessible. Prestige’s specialist risk expertise, combined with our digital-first approach, means we can now help non-standard customers get quality cover fast and completely online – supporting many who may have struggled to get cover elsewhere.
“Having successfully launched Travel Insurance earlier this year, this partnership with Prestige continues Urban Jungle’s expansion into new – often underserved – audiences. We’re delighted to work with a partner who shares our commitment to creating products using the latest tech to make things genuinely better for customers.”
