More than 70 residents were impacted by the Integra Vistas apartment fire on Sunday night.
Integra Vistas Apartments property management first released a statement regarding the fire.

Residents affected by the Integra Vistas apartment fire can claim a $100 gift certificate at one of three restaurants.
They thank the Chattanooga Fire Department and other emergency responders and law enforcement for their help.
They say they’re working with residents on relocation and that “building 188 remains closed due to ongoing safety concerns and the building’s compromised structural integrity.”
Residents reached out with questions, and Jill Swartz, a spokesperson for Spotlight Marketing, which is the communications team for Integra Vistas, collected the answers from her team.
Some residents say they did not think there was clear communication from property management. Is this accurate?
“Throughout this process, our property management team has maintained regular communication with residents through the resident portal, providing timely updates, resources and important information as it becomes available. We recognize that some residents have opted out of portal communications, and we are making every effort to reach those individuals through other available means to ensure they receive critical updates.
Our team remains on-site and fully committed to supporting our residents during this difficult time. We are working individually with affected residents to address their questions, provide relocation assistance and connect them with available community resources. We will continue communicating frequently and providing updates as new information becomes available.”

Berean Baptist Church says that because they have received so many donations, they are now asking anyone who wants to contribute to simply make a financial donation to the American Red Cross.
Some residents say the property manager is offering transfers to affiliated properties with higher rents. Is this accurate?
“Property management is offering affected residents the option to transfer to available units at Integra Vistas or nearby affiliated communities. Because available units vary by property, floor plan, size and current market pricing, rents may differ from a resident’s prior apartment. However, residents who transfer are being offered the best available pricing, a guaranteed 12-month term for 15-month pricing, and any current offered specials. If a resident believes a concession was not applied, they should contact the management office so it can be reviewed and corrected immediately.”
For the dozens of residents who are displaced, the days of waiting have felt like years.
Some residents say they’ve been paying the management company for months for what they thought was a full-coverage renters insurance policy, but when they went to file a claim, their policies did not have the full coverage. What is the apartment complex’s response to that?
“Residents are required to maintain renter’s insurance that provides liability coverage, which helps protect both the resident and the community in the event of certain incidents. While we strongly encourage residents to obtain coverage for their personal belongings, we do not require personal property coverage and nor does the state of Tennessee. This decision is left to each resident based on their individual needs and financial circumstances.”
What are the plans for the building — complete rebuild?
“It is too early to determine the long-term plans for Building 188. The building was declared unsafe for entry by the Chattanooga Fire Department while the fire was active. The Chattanooga Fire Department has since returned control of the building to property management; however, the building remains closed under our direction due to ongoing safety concerns and the building’s compromised structural integrity. We are working with insurance adjusters and a structural engineer to assess next steps.”
