Crawford restructures, appoints executives – Business Insurance


Crawford & Co. announced Wednesday that it would restructure into two divisions and made a series of leadership appointments.

The Atlanta-based, claims management company said that beginning Jan. 1, it will be comprised of U.S. operations and international operations.

Mike Hoberman has been promoted to CEO of U.S. operations to head the U.S. business and will report to interim President and CEO Bruce Swain.

Andrew Bart will continue in his role as CEO of international operations, which will now also include Canada. Mr. Bart has headed international business since January 2022.

Pat Van Bakel, formerly president, loss adjusting, North America, has been named chief commercial and strategy officer, reporting to Mr. Swain.

Other U.S leadership changes, all reporting to Mr. Hoberman, include Paul Kottler, president, U.S. loss adjusting, promoted to lead U.S. field operations, U.S. global technical Services and edjuster’s U.S. operations.

Additionally, Lance Malcolm, president, U.S. network solutions, was promoted to lead U.S. contractor connection and catastrophe services; and Jeffrey Sickles, chief claims officer for Broadspire, now will lead all Broadspire business across the U.S.

“By aligning our businesses under two global divisions and elevating proven leaders, we are clarifying accountability, strengthening collaboration across geographies and positioning Crawford to move at the speed our markets demand.” Bruce Swain, interim president & CEO, said in a statement.

Crawford last reorganized its business in January 2021.
