The Iowa Insurance Division says Antonia Maddison added a vehicle and driver to her auto insurance policy in an attempt to obtain coverage for an accident.
A Jasper County woman has been sentenced after pleading guilty to insurance fraud following an investigation that began in July 2024. The Iowa Insurance Division says Antonia Maddison, 47, was charged with one count of insurance fraud-fraudulent application back in September. A criminal complaint shows that back in July, Maddison added a vehicle and driver to her auto insurance policy. Investigators say Maddison did this in an attempt to obtain coverage for an accident.According to the criminal complaint, Maddison did not disclose the accident. Investigators also say she made false statements to her insurance company as a way to receive benefits. Maddison pleaded guilty on March 17, 2025. On May 20, she was sentenced to three years of formal probation and a $1,025 fine. The Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau said people with information about any insurance fraud are encouraged to call the bureau at 515-654-6556.
